OMBC asked us to look at the options for its print operations and internal print system, known as PaGE. JMCL’s specialist experience in print management won us this tender and we brought this experience to bear on finding the right solution for OMBC.
At all stages of the review we involved Oldham’s PaGE staff, recognising their experience and knowledge.
After careful analysis of both customer responses and behaviour and how the PaGE unit itself operated – closely following procurement directives, consultation guidelines and TUPE regulations – we recommended that OMBC’s print services be outsourced.
We managed the entire implementation, including all HR and IT-related issues, ensuring that there was a seamless transfer to the new contactor, while maintaining cost control.
The resulting audited savings were over £400k per annum on costs of £1m. In addition, there were improved levels of service and quality, and environmental compliance. The legacy is greater transparency in costs and a variable print cost to OMBC based on demand rather than a fixed overhead.
“Our Procurement team has benefitted immensely from the skills and knowledge transfer which JMCL incorporate into everything they do.” Ian Claydon-Butler, Head of Corporate Procurement, OMBC
